This piece has been made with a beautiful layered-structure, birch ply foot. Painted black.
And Recycled red cedar tea table, with centuries of history from Japan. The inner core of heart wood was dropping out in this tea table, so dovetails were needed to hold it together. David drew his iconic butterflies and Hans routed them out, dropping in solid 'Butterfly' dovetails to bring this tea table back to life.
All Covered with several layers of smooth 2-pac hardened resin lacquer. For decades of of daily wear. The ultimate hard wearing protection of your precious piece. Thick and dense scratch resistance, Alcohol resistance and heat resistance.
